About Dave
As a young boy I was very active, competitive early on and very curious. I loved spending time with my dad and mom. As a youngster, I loved helping my mom cook, which I continue to do on a regular basis until today. Dad and I frequently went to northern Lake Huron fishing during the warmer Michigan weather. During the late fall and winter, we spent time driving and listening to Polka music as we sought out eggs and apples. As a youngster, I fell in love with organised sports, to include basketball, baseball, tennis and golf. I continued in organized sports until my 50's as a weekend warrior taking part in competitive tennis and running in 5 and 10K's. After 40+ years of running I have moved on to intense spinning, lifting weights as I also continue in tennis.
Upon completing my graduate studies in 1975/76 I accepted my first official clinical position at Barry County Mental Health in Hastings Michigan. During my three years at Barry County I lived on Gun Lake. Loving water and enjoying water from an early age, I becme the proud owner of A Sunfish sailboat. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a life long love of sailing. Over the course of my adult years I have moved up large boat sailing that has taken me and family around, primarily, the upper Great Lakes and Canadian water's. Now that I am living in beautiful Golden Colorado I have transferred my thirst for adventure from water to the mountains. Upon moving to Golden I have become a member of the Colorado Mountain Club where I have taken a number of classes so I can more safely enjoy the Rockies in a safe manner. From my teen years til now I have always enjoyed photography. From the dark room in the 70's to digital format photograph has served as my artistic self expression. As I have begun year three in Golden I have decided to remain in this beautiful and friendly state where my son Matt and his deeply caring wife Mandy are teacher's. Andrew, their six month old son is a beautiful and healthy grandson who is simply a joy and casts an entirely new meaning to the beauty of life. February 2018 is the start of a new life chapter for Dave. I have returned to the profession of psychology/counseling. I will be specializing in counseling services with the adult population with main emphasis on the senior population. I have a very special place in my heart for seniors and the many issues that a senior can and may experience. Both of my parents experienced the Dementia/Alzheimer's path. Being involved in caring for them along with the many doctor's appointments and hospitalization's to include a short nursing home placement for my dad has deeply impacted me. As a helper all my life, I am looking forward to doing my small part as I offer counseling services to adults of all ages. Call Dave now for a free consultation 720-656-1629
